Union Sees Some Delphi Talks Progress, No Deal Yet
There are signs of progress in the three-way talks between bankrupt auto parts supplier Delphi, General Motors, and the United Auto Workers union, but no deal is yet in sight, union officials said on Wednesday after a closely watched meeting. The UAW update on negotiations came just over two weeks before a Delphi deadline to obtain cost cuts or begin a court process to void labor contracts that could lead to strikes.
