Unionization Efforts Growing Amongst US Colleges and Universities
In response to high tuition fees, increasing cuts to staff and faculty positions, reduced budgets, and suppression of workers' rights, graduate workers have started unionization efforts across America's higher education system. Many of the issues that graduate workers cite against college and university administrators are responses to the pandemic. For example, budget cuts, hiring freezes, and loss of staff and faculty positions are the result of reduced student enrollment at numerous colleges and universities.
