The recently unionized Elmwood, Buffalo area Starbucks store has staged a walkout. On Wednesday, half a dozen workers walked out in protest of unsafe working conditions. A barista at the store cited understaffing, issues enforcing masking rules, and employee anxiety as COVID cases spike as the contributors to their walkout. The workers have asked Starbucks to close the store temporarily, but the company has not decided on the request yet.
