Unions in Hungary protest labor, tax law changes
More than 20,000 Hungarian workers rallied on Saturday, asking for changes to labor and tax laws which they say have led to salary decreases and unstable working conditions. The government has passed laws that include forcing early retirees back into the work force. The protesters said that they understand the reasoning behind the change, which seeks to increase the number of people working and consumption, but that implementing it gradually would have been a better step, as well as not including those who retired years ago. The protests are planned to continue this week, after a court overruled a ban by the police.
