Unions Rally to Build Towers at Ground Zero
New York City construction unions are planning at rally to be held today at the the site of the World Trade Centers to show their support of developer Larry Silverstein's plans to build two more towers at the site. Silverstein is supported by the Mayor, but the Port Authority does not want to spend the money on another tower due to budget cuts. While many construction unions would like to see the tower built because of the jobs it would provide, others say that building the tower cannot bankrupt the Port Authority or take too much away from infrastructure development. The two sides were given until Friday to come up with a solution or the panel could decide for them.
