Unions to fight tougher laws with 'biggest civil disobedience campaign'
After reports that the British government was planning on passing laws that would require unions to provide a minimum level of service during strikes, British unions said that they were prepared to take action against the laws. Leaders of the engineering and rail unions said that workers should be prepared to break the law if that was what it came to. The Trades Union Congress voted to develop a plan to resist any such laws, and Unite, one of the largest unions said that they would not just accept changes to the laws. The Labour Party leader said that they should be able to deal with disagreements through their relationship.
