Unions to meet ministers on civil service cuts
The British Public and Commercial Services union will enter talks with the Cabinet Office, even as they prepare to ballot their 250,000 members on potential strike actions Wednesday. The PCS says that more than 750,000 workers may join a 24-hour walkout on June 30. The union says that the talks with the government were progressing, and that they expect an announcement about public sector pension next month. A walk-out could include teachers, as well as other civil servants.
