Unions to vote on contract
Yale University's unions are set to vote on new three-year contracts months in advance, marking the first time (if the agreement passes) in 22 years that negotiations succeeded without a strike. The deal, which is similar to prior contracts, was proposed to union members last week and received an unusually positive reception. Members will vote on the agreement on April 14th, though the language of the contract is not finalized. Concessions from both parties were made, with the unions fighting hard over job security. Details of the agreement are not yet known, though union members say the early agreement is indicative of a better relationship between unions and the university going forward.
