Unions Vote On Concessions Deal This Week
In Connecticut, union members will vote on the $637 million concession deal laid out by Governor Jodi Rell and state employees unions. 13 unions total must vote, and for those that have voted already this week, the agreement has passed. Although union members are apparently unhappy with the concessions, the plan is preferred to layoffs ? particularly as workers witness much worse in the private sector. Voting for the deal, which includes a one-year pay freeze, will be completed this week.
