United Airlines and American Airlines workers hold protest in Las Vegas Harry Reid Airport
Flight crews from both United Airlines and American Airlines picketed in terminals 1 and 3 of the Las Vegas Harry Reid Airport. American Airlines flight attendants voted in approval of strike action to pressure American Airlines to meet worker demands, and flight crew gathered in terminal 1 to announce the news. United Airlines flight crew protested in terminal 3, calling for pay raises and measures to change United operations to fix major issues. United Airlines workers are also calling for an increase in workers in the United scheduling department, stating that when flights are canceled due to weather United does not tell flight attendants their next flight, which results in flight attendants having to stay overnight in airports or planes. Protests are also occurring at several major airports in the United States, as airline workers and flight attendants around the country fight for a new contract after years of negotiations.
