United Airlines passenger service workers vote for union in big win for IAM
Over 16,000 United Airlines reservation workers and gate agents have voted to stay unionized. The workers will be represented by the International Association of Machinists. The vote came after United merged with Continental, where reservation and gate workers were not unionized. The union said that the vote will give workers power in their workplace. United said that it will work to get a contract that is fair for both the workers and the company.
