University of Illinois at Springfield faculty ends strike
University of Illinois at Springfield employees have agreed to a contract after going on strike last Tuesday. Approximately 160 professors went on strike, disrupting the final week of classes at the university. The union representing the faculty members, UIS United Faculty, bargained in good faith with the administration for three days before striking a deal on Sunday. Although the details of the agreement have not been released, faculty members were pushing for salary increases, a protective grievance policy, and protections pertaining to the reappointment and promotion process.
