UPS dismisses pilots' threat to halt flights
The Independent Pilots Association (IPA), which represents United Parcel Service (UPS) pilots in the U.S., announced yesterday they are stopping flights to and from Canada in support of a strike against UPS by their Canadian counterparts. Close to 4,000 Canadian UPS employees have been on strike since Monday over a pay dispute. IPA has threatened additional action if UPS moves to break the Canadian strike. UPS claims it has the right to use management pilots, but analysts said the IPA?s actions help the union in their ongoing contract talks.
