The airline's mechanics' union is seeking to block US Airways Group from hiring a Singapore unit of Technologies Engineering to overhaul 10 aircraft. The union says that their contract bars subcontracting of major maintenance. A spokesman for the airline said that contractors were being hired because the company lacks the space and the equipment to work on the aircraft.
