US Airways to Ask Court to Cut Union Workers' Pay 23%
US Airways is planning to ask a bankruptcy court judge today to impose emergency pay cuts that would cut union workers' pay by 23 percent. The airline also announced that it would reduce or stop contributions to some employee retirement plans. Unions representing airline employees say that they will continue to negotiate a reduction in concessions.
