US Consumer Confidence Shows Sharp Rebound in August
In August, the U.S. saw the highest level of consumer confidence in the last seven months. The main driving force behind this increase is a renewed positive outlook toward the labor market. Many who were surveyed reported that they felt job opportunities were "plentiful", and the number of people who reported that jobs are "hard to get" decreased significantly. The uptick in consumer confidence and the low oil prices should lead to more consumer spending, which will in turn stimulate economic growth.
