US Department of Labor pushes back implementation of in-person work requirements
In late 2023 the United States Department of Labor announced plans to implement increases to in-person work requirements for all federal employees working in the department. The new in-person work requirements were scheduled to go into effect starting in late January. The requirements state that federal workers in the labor department will be required to work in person or onsite for five days out of every two-week period. The department announced that the new in-person work requirements will be pushed back due to ongoing negotiations with various unions representing federal labor employees. The delay of in-person working requirements does not apply to senior-level employees, managers, and supervisors, who are subject to a different requirement that has been in effect since October.
