US federal government relaxes drug screening requirements in order to hire more younger employees amidst labor shortages
In recent years, the legalization of marijuana in many states has prompted some employers to remove drug testing from their application processes. In the wake of a tight labor market and aging workforce, the US federal government has become the latest employer to relax its drug screening requirements in order to widen its applicant pool. The US military, CIA, and FBI have all adopted more lenient rules for past marijuana use, however, once hired, federal employees are not allowed to use any drugs even if it legal in that state.
