US Lets in Thai Fish Caught by Slaves Despite Law
Recently, a U.S. report accused Thailand of unfair labor practices yet the U.S. continues to import seafood from the country. On Wednesday, Congress will meet to discuss the Associated Press's (AP) recent investigation into the matter. The AP found that employers in Thailand often beat and starve their employees. It has been estimated that over 4,000 seafood workers in Thailand are subject to forced labor.
