US sets grants for health technology, job training
The United States Health and Human Services Secretary and the US Labor Secretary announced today that nearly a $1 billion in federal stimulus funds have been levied for the health industry and for employment. The money will help to make healthcare information technology available to hospitals throughout the nation, and to train approximately 15,000 people for careers in healthcare and information technology, as well as several other high-growth industries. White House experts predict that approximately 10,000 skilled positions will become available in these industries in the next few years, and want to make sure that there are employees with the proper skills ready and waiting to fill them up.
