Vaccine mandate for large employers is set to take effect in January
The Biden administration has announced that a vaccine mandate for all businesses with 100 or more employees and certain health care workers must be fully vaccinated by January 4th. 84 million employees working at large employers will have to be fully vaccinated or show a weekly negative COVID test to their employer and the rule will be implemented by OSHA. 17 million health workers at facilities with Medicaid and Medicare will be required to be fully vaccinated with no test out option enforced by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. This announcement also pushed back the federal contractor’s deadline of December 8th to January 4th.
