Vanderbilt instructors push to unionize
Vanderbilt University's non-tenured instructors want to hold a union election. The lecturers have filed a petition with the National Labor Relations Board in hopes that union organization will provide better job security. The university currently employs over 500 non-tenured professors and would be the first private institution in Tennessee to recognize a faculty union.
