Victory for Modi: Coal India Trade Unions Call Off Strike
Employees of Coal India planned to strike Monday over a stake sale that would split up the company, which currently monopolizes coal mining in India. The strike was called off after a tentative meeting was organized between the coal minister and the unions representing the workers. The company is confident that even if workers carry out the strike, it will have little effect on the coal production.
