Vietnamese Workers Return After Strike
Almost 10,000 Vietnamese workers who make Happy Meal toys for McDonald's returned to work after staging a two day strike in protest of unfair and abusive labor practices. The laborers, mostly young women, claimed that they had been humiliated and treated poorly by their supervisors. The strike ended after the workers received a 10 percent pay increase, from 16 cents to 17.5 cents an hour.
