Virus Cases in College Sports Prove Athletes Are Workers
A recent investigation conducted by the New York Times concluded that at least 6,629 players and staff members in athletic departments from major universities have tested positive. The number of cases is believed to be far fewer than in reality, due to the lack of schools that complied with the investigation. However, the high number of cases are concerning. As colleges and universities continue to allow athletes to play, the debate over whether or not college athletes should be considered workers has sparked once again.
