VW Says Personnel Chief Hartz Leaves
Peter Hartz, personnel chief at the automaker Volkswagen, has resigned from the company. Hartz had offered his resignation last month amid a scandal over the alleged abuse of expense accounts for company representatives. The personnal director lent his name to a controversial reform of unemployment benefits after heading a commission for Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, and is one of Germany's best-known business executives.
