VW's Labor Chief Says Big U.S. Fines Will Hit Workers' Jobs
On Tuesday at its headquarters in Germany, Volkswagen announced to nearly 20,000 workers that job cuts may be implemented if the company is forced to pay very large fines as a results of the emissions scandal. Volkswagen has asked that the United States consider the possible job cuts the company may need to undergo when determining the fine that the company will be charged. The automobile manufacturer currently employs a workforce of 600,000 worldwide.
