Wage hike executive order moves forward, but workers want more
The U.S. Department of Labor has taken steps to act on President Obama?s executive order to increase the minimum wage of federal employees and employees of federal contractors. The raise to $10.10 per hour will affect more than 200,000 workers. Although Good Jobs Nation believes that the wage hike is a good step, the organization has stated that it will continue to strike and protest until the President requires that federal contractors bargain with employees. Good Jobs Nation says that it speaks on behalf of low wage workers all over the nation, but has yet to officially for a union with any of the employees it says it represents.
