Wal-Mart Labor Protests Grow, Organizers Say
On Tuesday, protests at Wal-Mart spread to 28 stores. The protests, part of the Make Change at Walmart campaign and the Organization for Respect at Wal-Mart, hope to pressure Wal-Mart into improving working conditions. While Wal-Mart says that the protests are stunts, workers say that they are strikes due to unfair labor practices. Workers say that they want Wal-Mart to pay better wages, improve working conditions and stop retaliation against employees who speak out. Wal-Mart says that their jobs are some of the best in retail, and that workers like their jobs.
