Wal-Mart Settles Illegal Immigrant Case
Wal-Mart Stores has agreed to an $11 million settlement over the use of illegal immigrants by its janitorial contractors. Wal-Mart acknowledged that better safeguards should have been in place to prevent its janitorial contractors from hiring the workers and stated that it faced no criminal charges in the case. According to a company spokeswoman, the money will go toward helping to enforce immigration laws.
