Wal-Mart has announced plans to start a new diversity office, headed by company lawyer, Charlyn Jarrells Porter. Wal-Mart has been the target of a variety of employment-related bias suits as well as a federal grand jury investigation into illegal workers. The company hopes that the creation of this office will show a real commitment to diversity and put in place the proper framework to make it a success.
