Walmart Adjusts the Thermostat to Warm Worker Relations
Seeking to increase employee retention in a competitive job market, Walmart executives promised improved working conditions at an employee rally held last Wednesday. The retail corporation had already raised wages twice this year in an attempt to match other employers; the retailer is now working on introducing friendlier workplace policies in order to entice employees to stay long-term. Some of the improvements include comfortable ambient store temperatures, relaxed dress codes, and upgraded store music. Walmart acknowledged that it?s still working on other employee concerns, including flexible work scheduling.
