Washington hospital hires virtual nurses to assist in-person nursing team
A hospital in Washington is using virtual nurses to help reduce the hospital’s nursing shortages. Virtual nurses help support the in-person nursing team by taking care of administrative tasks such as medical list collections, diagnosis information, and admission and discharge guidance. These nurses are licensed to practice in Washington and are trained with the same policies used for travel nurses. America’s nursing shortage is expected to grow in the next decade, and the hospital is hoping that virtual nurses and new technology will help reduce the effects of the shortages.
