Washington unemployment rate jumps to 9.2 percent
Washington's unemployment rate reached 9.2% in March, up from 8.3% in February. State officials have noted that there are virtually no job growth sectors currently in the state, where 327,400 people are unemployed. 102,200 jobs have been lost over the past 14 month, which amounts to 3.4% of Washington's workforce. The last 3 months have been particularly grim, with jobless rates jumping more than .5% each month.
