Amidst crackdowns on labor protests in China, "We The Workers", a labor documentary is gaining momentum. The film documents six year of strikes and gives viewers a rare glimpse of how labor groups are organized in China. Many Chinese workers suffer from unsafe work conditions, discrimination, and deprivation of social security rights. Labor groups were traditionally tolerated by local authorities, but crackdowns have gotten "increasingly severe" since 2015.
