Weak U.S. Hiring Adds to Global Gloom
According to a new report from the Labor Department, the economy gained 69,000 jobs in May, a lower number than predicted. The unemployment rate rose for the first time in eleven months to 8.2%, with most of the gain coming from people re-entering the labor market. The report is the third month in a row with lower than expected numbers, causing some to question the recovery. The increase for April was also revised down, from 115,000 to 77,000.
