White House Raises Limit for Overtime Pay
The Bush administration has revised new regulations on overtime pay to allow more workers to qualify for the benefit. This was accomplished by raising the salary threshold for workers defined as "highly compensated," and therefore ineligible for overtime pay, from $65,000 to $100,000. Democrats still contend that the regulations unfairly deny overtime pay to millions of white-collar, nonunion workers.
