Whole Foods to Stop Selling Products Made by Inmates
By April of 2016, Whole Foods is expect to remove all products produced by inmates from its stores. This decision came as a result of a protest the company experienced at one of its stores in Texas. Whole Foods had initially participated in the program as a means to help inmates "get back on their feet", but will no longer be participating now that customers are not comfortable with it. Inmates who choose to participate in the program are typically paid between 74 cents and $4 an hour.
