Why Cambodian Garment Workers are on Strike Again
500 garment factory workers in Cambodia protested for the monthly minimum wage to be set at $177. This marks the second strike these workers have held in the past year over wage disputes. At this time, the estimated monthly wage for garment workers is $100 a month. Thus far, the government has only agreed to increase this wage by small increments of $15 to $20.
