Window factory sit-in ends with 90-day reprieve for workers
After beginning a sit-in on Thursday afternoon, workers at a window factory outside of Chicago agreed to end it Friday morning when the company said that they would keep the factory open for 90 days. The workers were told on Thursday that the plant would close. Three years ago, workers at the same factory, then owned by a different company, organized a sit-in to demand severance after they were laid off. The company says that it will look for a buyer for the factory.
