Winnebago Industries announces layoffs to workers at Iowa production facility
Winnebago Industries, a popular RV and boat manufacturer, has recently announced layoffs that will affect over thirty workers in Forest City, Iowa. The company stated earlier this year that a production plant in Charles City, Iowa would permanently cease operations. The plant produced camper vans, and production for these vehicles was moved to a different facility in Lake Mills, Iowa. Winnebago Industries has workers located in Iowa, Florida, Indiana, and Minnesota, as the company recently moved its headquarters to Minneapolis. The changes are due to shifting retail demand for camper vans, as well as various inefficiencies in company operations. The overall RV industry is facing various challenges related to higher operating costs.
