Wis. gov doesn't want state workers at new agency
Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker is proposing a new state agency that would replace the Commerce Department. The Governor says that the new agency would not employ unionized workers, even though all but 75 of the employees of the Commerce Department are unionized. Union leaders say that the move would violate union contracts, and that they have concerns about his plans. The Governor said that workers would have to reapply for jobs at the new agency, something the unions said was illegal. The new agency is the latest in a line of skirmishes between the new governor and the unions.
