Wis. judge rejects request to reinstate union bargaining rights law while appeal is pending
On Monday, a Wisconsin judge denied a request from the state to allow them to implement the changes while they are appealing the judge's ruling. The judge ruled that major parts of the Wisconsin law that stripped most public workers of collective bargaining rights was unconstitutional. The judge said that the sate had not proved that it was necessary for the law to go into effect while it is being appealed. The state said that they will also appeal this decision. The judge ruled that the law, which limits collective bargaining issues for some state workers, violates free speech, association and equal representation.
