Wisconsin unions try to battle back
Public sector unions in Wisconsin are strengthening their resolve to regain their momentum in the wake of Governor Scott Walker's legislation that severely hampered public employees ability to collectively bargain this past spring. The most likely tactic for union leaders would be a two-pronged attack with the increased support of the national organizations. The first prong would have utilizing funds and organizations to recall six Republican state senators in an effort to win back the Wisconsin legislature and repeal Walker's legislation. The second is a lawsuit filed last week by a coalition of unions charging Walker's law as unconstitutional by violating the First and 14th amendments. State Republicans say they are ready for the unions and prepared to fight both the recall and lawsuit at every turn.
