Women More Educated but Lack Job Parity, Study Finds
In a recent survey by the American Association of University Women, data from the U.S. Census Bureau reveals that women have gained equal access to four-year degrees and improved access to professional and management careers over the past twenty years. Unfortunately, however, the data also revealed that this advancement and many women's careers remain restricted to such historically female-dominated jobs as nursing and teaching where the largest numbers of female college graduates continue to work. While women now have higher high-school and bachelors program graduation rates than men, advanced degree programs in such higher-paying fields as science and engineering---as well as the jobs these programs lead to---continue to be male-dominated.
