Worker injuries remain high at Amazon warehouses post-pandemic, surpassing the injury rates of other competitors
While the total injury rate amongst Amazon warehouse workers has declined from 2021 to 2022, the overall injury rates are still higher than pre-pandemic levels. Additionally, injuries are more common at Amazon compared to its other competitors, which has been blamed on the fast pace of the Amazon warehouses; and the company accounts for more than half of all serious injuries in the warehouse industry, while only employing a third of workers. Despite Amazon's claims that it is working to address these workplace safety concerns, OSHA has recently begun inspections into various Amazon warehouses.
