Worker Rights Get Promotional Drive
The National Labor Relations Board is setting out on a campaign to raise awareness among nonunion workers of their rights in airing grievances about employment conditions, wages, and other issues without retribution on the part of employers. The NLRB says many nonunion employees don?t realize they share these rights with unionized workers, and hopes raising awareness will enable workers to feel more empowered in discussing workplace issues with employers as well as their peers. Representatives of the United States Chamber of Commerce have dismissed the NLRB?s campaign as a bid to prevent a slide into irrelevancy in the face of declining union membership.
