Workers and unions in the UK call for more regulation of AI in the workplace as fears mount regarding technology infringing on workers' rights
In the UK, trade unions are calling for more extensive government oversight of AI technology in the workplace. Workers allege that they the AI is infringing on their staff rights as management by algorithm becomes more prevalent. Additionally, workers in the UK have expressed growing fears of employee surveillance as there are not currently any regulations on the practices. The UK government has recently published a white paper on AI outlining principles for use of the technology; however, this approach has been dismissed by some as not having any regulatory power.
