Workers are set to be terminated as the vaccine deadline is up in NYC
Thousands of New York City workers are set to lose their jobs after failing to comply with today's vaccine deadline. The mandate issued under New York City's previous mayor will be enforced by the current mayor, Eric Adams, and he said he will continue with terminations despite legal objections and protests. Terminations will include around 4,000 of the city's roughly 400,000 employees. 3,000 of the 4,000 have been without pay since failing to meet a November vaccine deadline and the other 1,000 were hired after the rule went into effect but have not shown proof of vaccination.
