Workers at a candle factory say their managers threatened to fire them
Workers at the Mayfield Consumer Products factory in Kentucky pleaded to be let to go home amid deadly tornados. Kentucky suffered 74 fatalities, 8 of which includes workers at the factory. Multiple employees claim that they asked to be allowed to leave the facilities and others asked to be able to seek shelter instead of working in the open, managers threatened their jobs in response. A company spokesperson said, “It’s absolutely untrue. We’ve had a policy in place since Covid began. Employees can leave any time they want to leave, and they can come back the next day.”
